NBC hires Farrakhan super-fan to “report” on Olympic Games
Less than 90 days after the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust, NBC announced it's giving a global platform to a notorious admirer of America's most influential inciter of hatred of Jews.
Update, August 6, 2024: It was revealed that NBC is paying Snoop Dogg $500,000 per day for his Olympics “reporting.”
The next time you are astonished to see survey results that show 40% of Americans under age 35 now support Hamas over Israel, 50% of them saying Hamas’s October 7 massacre of Jews was “justified,” and 51% of Americans age 18-24 saying “Israel should be ended and given to Hamas and the Palestinians,” remember this report — and the fact that not one top-tier Jewish advocacy nonprofit said anything about NBC’s shocking decision on their websites.
The Olympic Games are the ultimate global forum for athletic excellence. What the Academy Awards are to motion pictures, what the Grammy Awards are to music, what the Indy 500 is to open-wheel auto racing, the Olympics are to the sports world.
With that in mind, let’s explore a thought experiment:
Imagine that the 10/7 slaughter-rape-torture-kidnapping of Jews in Israel was perpetrated not by Islamist terrorists, but by right-wing extremists.
Now, imagine waking up less than 90 days later, and discovering that Fox News decided to hire, as part of its Olympics "reporting" team, an "entertainer" who publicly cheers the former national leader of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke, because he claims Duke “just puts the truth out there” about black people and other minorities.
Further, let’s imagine this entertainer:
Produced a video in which he pretended to assassinate an actor made up to look like President Obama
Has been convicted of a gun crime
Publicly threatened a female CBS News journalist
Refers to women as “whores” and “bitches,” and says they must “obey” their male partners, or risk being violently “put [them] in their place”
Walked into one of the most prestigious entertainment awards ceremonies holding two leashes, at the other end of which were two women wearing dog collars around their necks (one with a muzzle covering her mouth)
Publicly admitted he was once a pimp
Uses a mind-altering substance on broadcasts, and as a lifestyle
One need not be a genius to imagine, with great confidence, what would happen very quickly:
The most influential “social justice” and “women’s rights” groups would rush to (a) condemn Fox News for legitimizing this entertainer, by giving him a global platform, and (b) educate the public about David Duke and the white supremacist ideology
These groups, along with various educators, news organizations, entertainers and parents’ groups, would be calling for an advertiser boycott against Fox News and in particular, its Superbowl programming
Daytime TV talk shows like “The View” would be shriekingly amplifying these calls for advertiser boycotts, and insisting that Fox News is a clear and present threat to American democracy
Any advertisers that dared to keep advertising at Fox News would feel the heat, in terms of lost sales, reputational decline, and possibly even demonstrations in front of their headquarters or retail locations
That is a theoretical scenario.
The rest of this report is 100% real, and verifiable.
NBC Sports hired Snoop Dogg, a super-fan of America’s most influential inciter of hatred against Jews, to “report” on the Olympic Games
On December 31, 2023, this is what NBC announced in a press release:
“SNOOP DOGG TO JOIN NBCUNIVERSAL’S PRIMETIME COVERAGE OF OLYMPIC GAMES PARIS 2024”
He… “will provide regular reports from Paris for Olympic Primetime Show on NBC and Peacock…”
“Throughout the Games, Snoop will speak with NBC Olympics host Mike Tirico and provide the large primetime U.S. audience with his unique take on what’s happening in Paris. He’ll explore the city’s iconic landmarks, attend Olympic competitions and events, and visit with the athletes, their friends, and families.”
Molly Solomon, president of NBC Olympics Production, added:
“We don’t know what the heck is going to happen every day, but we know [Dogg] will add his unique perspective to our reimagined Olympic primetime show.”
To those who know of Snoop Dogg’s history and public statements, NBC’s action is a mind-boggling thumb-in-the-eye to rational Americans, especially parents who are struggling to teach their children reasonable basic standards of right and wrong. It’s something far worse to Jews worldwide, who face skyrocketing hatred and violence, less than 90 days after Hamas’s 10/7 slaughter, that is worse than at any time since the Holocaust.
Unfortunately, few people know of Dogg’s actual history, or the fact that he is a super-fan of the man the ADL declared “America’s Most Popular Antisemite,” Louis Farrakhan.
The purpose of this report is to present the basic facts that every American - and every NBCUniversal shareholder - should know, to form a rational judgment about (a) NBC’s decision, and (b) how it comports with the morals clauses in broadcasters’ talent contracts.
(1) An introduction to the “morals clauses” in broadcasters’ talent contracts
(2) About Snoop Dogg
(3) About Louis Farrakhan
(4) May 2019: Snoop Dogg publicly declared himself a super-fan of Louis Farrakhan: “He’s just putting the truth out there”
(5) I waited from January-May 2024 for any Jewish nonprofit to publicly condemn NBCUniversal on their website. This report was necessitated by their silence.
(6) How to contact NBCUniversal and Comcast
(1) An introduction to the “morals clauses” in broadcasters’ talent contracts
NBCUniversal, like other TV and radio broadcasters, uses “morals clauses” in their talent contracts. Basically, these clauses require on-air talent to agree to not do anything that will harm either their reputation, or that of the broadcaster, during the term of their employment.
Several top-name talents were recently fired (or forced to resign) by NBCUniversal, including Matt Lauer and Megyn Kelly, due to either alleged violations of the morals clauses in their contracts.
Before a prospective on-air talent even gets an interview, however, the broadcaster does a thorough background check, to learn about their past behavior.
So what would NBCUniversal’s (or any responsible, shareholder-owned broadcaster’s) background check on Snoop Dogg reveal, as related to industry-standard morals clauses?
(2) About Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg’s real name is Calvin Broadus, Jr., and since 1993 he’s been one of America’s most influential and successful rap singers.
In the context of a character-behavioral background check, pertaining to the provisions of broadcaster’s morals clauses, here is a sampling of Dogg’s documented history, in chronological order:
1990-2000: Dogg was arrested and convicted for gun and drug crimes.
1994/5: After Dogg began popularizing the terms “whores” and “bitches” to describe females, legendary singer Dionne Warwick personally scolded him, and challenged him to call her one of those words, to her face. It caused him to promise her he’d do better:
“She was checking me at a time when I thought we couldn’t be checked. We were the most gangsta as you could be, but that day at Dionne Warwick’s house, I believe we got out-gangstered that day.” […]
[He said he] was then inspired to change his musical approach, starting with his 1996 record Tha Doggfather. “I made it a point to put records of joy – me uplifting everybody and nobody dying and everybody living,” he continued. “Dionne, I hope I became the jewel that you saw when I was the little, dirty rock that was in your house. I hope I’m making you proud.”
One may judge Dogg’s integrity by what he actually did in the following years — and speculate on how many women and girls may have been emotionally abused, physically beaten, or even killed, by males who like his music, and accept and implement his values and doctrines.
June 2003: Dogg showed up at the MTV Video Music Awards holding two leashes, at the other ends of which were two women, wearing dog collars — one of whom was had a muzzle affixed to her face.
November 2004: Dogg releases the album, “R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece,” which contains the song, “Can U Control Yo Hoe?,” the lyrics of which openly advocate violence against women, in order to “put bitch[es] in their place” if they “don’t obey”:
Can you control yo ho?
You got a bitch, that won't do what you say
You can't control yo ho
She hard-headed and she just won't obey
Can you control yo ho?
You got to know what to do and what to say
Listen
You got to put that bitch in her plaaacce
Even if it's slappin' her in her face
You got to control yo ho…
April 2007: Dogg was charged in Los Angeles County with gun possession by a convicted felon, as well as drug possession. He pleaded no contest to both crimes.
May 2013: Dogg admitted he was once a pimp, and used to '“f-ck a bitch, get a new ho. It was my program":
"As a kid I dreamed of being a pimp, I dreamed of having cars and clothes and bitches to match. I said, 'F*ck it—I'm finna do it’… [I] put an organization together. I did a Playboy tour, and I had a bus follow me with 10 bitches on it. I could fire a bitch, f*ck a bitch, get a new ho: It was my program."
October 2014: After an online dispute with female rap star Iggy Azalea, Dogg replied as follows, which contained an implict threat, that her male partner better discipline her, before he does:
“Say bitch, you're f*cking with the wrong n*gga, and your n*gga better check you before I do you funky bitch. Yeah, you. F*cking c*nt."
March 2017: Dogg produced and starred in a video in which he pointed a gun at the head of an actor made up to look like President Trump, then pulled the trigger:
February 2020: Dogg openly threatened CBS News journalist Gayle King. In the following selfie video, he said:
“[You] funky, dog-haired bitch. How dare you try to torch my homeboy’s reputation, [you] punk motherf*cker. Respect the family and back off, bitch, before we come get you.”
February 2022: Dogg is being sued by a woman who claims he and another man sexually assaulted her.
(3) About Louis Farrakhan
Here are some examples of Farrakhan’s public statements:
“The white man is our mortal enemy, and we cannot accept him. I will fight to see that vicious beast go down into the lake of fire.” (source)
“Those who call themselves ‘Jews,’ who are not really Jews, but are in fact Satan: You should learn to call them by their real name, ‘Satan’; you are coming face-to-face with Satan.” (source)
“[T]he Jews don’t like Farrakhan, so they call me Hitler. Well, that’s a good name. Hitler was a very great man.” (source)
He “identifies as ‘the lone Messenger of God,’ and preaches that the ‘white Jews’ have been ‘the enemies of God,’ [and] the servants of Satan, for the last 4,000 years.” (source)
Homosexuality is “degenerate crap,” “cultural degeneracy,” and that those who engage in it will be rejected by Heaven, because it’s “filth” and “God condemns it” (source)
In August 2015, Farrakhan publicly claimed, “White people deserve to die. They know!” Less than one month earlier, he publicly said, “We must rise up and kill those who kill us!”
On July 7, 2016, after enabling him for five years, Twitter allowed Farrakhan to upload a video that explicitly justified racist violence. Less than five hours later, one of his followers went on a racist murder spree, that left five Dallas-area police officers dead. Over the next fourteen months two more followers also went on racist murder sprees.
Here is a partial transcript of the video:
“There is no freedom without the shedding of blood! When you are willing and not afraid anymore to pay the price for freedom — don’t let the white man tell you that violence is wrong! Every damn thing that he got, he got it by being violent — killing people, raping and robbing and murdering!”
(4) May 2019: Snoop Dogg publicly declared himself a super-fan of Louis Farrakhan: “He’s just putting the truth out there”
Fast-forward to May 1, 2019: Facebook banned Farrakhan for repeated posts that violated its rules against spreading hate, incitement, etc.
In response, on May 2, Dogg posted a video, in which he openly urged his 83.7 million social media followers to peddle Farrakhan propaganda on their own social media:
“Post your favorite Mr. Farrakhan videos on your Instagram and Facebook page. Show some love to a real brother.”
Then, on May 3, Snoop Dogg publicly claimed Farrakhan should not have been banned, because “[he’s] putting the truth out there”:
“How the fuck y’all gonna ban Minister Louis Farrakhan for putting the truth out there? I stand with him. I’m with him. Ban me, motherfucker.”
(5) I waited from January-May 2024 for any Jewish nonprofit to publicly condemn NBCUniversal on their website. This report was necessitated by their silence.
Given what was discussed earlier in our thought experiment, you might assume that at least one prominent Jewish nonprofit or news organ would say something about NBC’s decision, in the same manner that black and “social justice” organizations would (rightfully) be in an uproar if Fox News decided to hire one of David Duke’s super-fans, who’d built up a social media following of nearly 84 million people.
You would be wrong. Here’s the proof:
A Google search on June 9, 2024, using the string, “NBC Sports Snoop Dogg Olympics”, (archive here), reveals dozens of articles, in many of America’s most influential entertainment-oriented news organizations, about this incident. These include, in sequence, People (January 2), Rolling Stone (January 2), Billboard (January 2), CNN (January 3), Reuters (February 14), and Variety (April 17).
Yet searches of the most prominent American Jewish nonprofits of the string “Snoop Dogg” on June 9, 2024, revealed that not one has ever even mentioned him.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) search (archive here). The ADL’s declared mission: “To stop the defamation of the Jewish people, and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” The ADL has also never said a word about Snoop Dogg on X/Twitter.
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) search (archive here). The AJC’s declared mission: “To enhance the well-being of the Jewish people and Israel, and to advance human rights and democratic values in the United States and around the world.” The AJC has also never said a word about Snoop Dogg on X/Twitter.
The Simon Wiesenthal Center search (archive here). The SWC’s declared mission: “To confront anti-Semitism, hate and terrorism, promotes human rights and dignity, stands with Israel, defends the safety of Jews worldwide, and teaches the lessons of the Holocaust for future generations.” The SWC has also never said a word about NBC’s decision to hire Snoop Dogg on X/Twitter.
The World Jewish Congress search (archive here). The WJC’s declared mission: “To foster the unity and represent the interests of the Jewish people, and to ensure the continuity and development of its religious, spiritual, cultural, and social heritage.” The SWC has also never said a word about Snoop Dogg on X/Twitter.
The Jewish Center for Public Affairs’s search engine doesn’t display the results of searches that produce no returns (see the JewishPublicAffairs.org website as it existed on June 9, 2024 here). All I got when I searched “Snoop Dogg” (use search box at top right) was this screen:
The JCPA has also never said a word about Snoop Dogg on X/Twitter/.
The JCPA doesn’t have a declared mission; rather, on its About page, it states:
“Since its founding 80 years ago, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) has served as the national convener of Jewish coalitions working to build a just and inclusive democracy—bringing together national and local partners to address the issues that most deeply affect our community and advance our most essential values. Throughout its history, JCPA has been at the forefront of the fight for civil rights, justice, and equality in the United States. Today, JCPA is mobilizing the robust community relations network and its partners in pursuit of a more just and democratic society for all – based on an abiding belief that Jewish safety is inextricably linked with the safety of other communities and a strong, pluralistic democracy.”
The Foundation to Combat Anti-Semitism does not have a search function on its website. Therefore, I did a Google search using the string “FCAS.org Snoop Dogg,” which returned no relevant results. The FCAS’s delcared mission: “To win the hearts and minds of non-Jews and Jews through powerful, positive messaging and partnerships, motivating and equipping them to be defenders of and upstanders for Jews.” The FCAS has also never said a word about Snoop Dogg on X/Twitter/.
The US Holocaust Memorial Museum search (archive here). The USHMM’s declared mission: “[To] inspire citizens and leaders worldwide to confront hatred, prevent genocide, and promote human dignity.” The USHMM has also never said a word about Snoop Dogg on X/Twitter.
The unconscionable, blanket silence of these organizations regarding NBC’s hiring of Snoop Dogg to “report” on the 2024 Summer Olympics is what compelled me to develop this report.
