Note also in the following sources that an overwhelming majority of Hispanic Americans also oppose sanctuary cities; excerpts:
“83 percent of Hispanics want the sanctuary cities to obey federal demands to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and turn over illegals sought for deportation” - Washington Examiner

Poll: Americans overwhelmingly oppose sanctuary cities, The Hill, January 17, 2017. Excerpt:
An overwhelming majority of Americans believe that cities that arrest illegal immigrants for crimes should be required to turn them over to federal authorities.
The poll shows that President Trump has broad public support in his effort to crack down on sanctuary cities.
A survey from Harvard–Harris Poll provided exclusively to The Hill found that 80 percent of voters say local authorities should have to comply with the law by reporting to federal agents the illegal immigrants they come into contact with.
As it stands, hundreds of cities across the nation — many with Democratic mayors or city councils — are refusing to do so.
Trump has signed an executive order directing Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly to find ways to starve these sanctuary cities of federal funding. A Reuters analysis found the top 10 sanctuary cities in the U.S. receive $2.27 billion in federal funding for programs ranging from public health services to early childhood education.
Exclusive: 77 percent of voters in key states demand end to ‘sanctuary cities’ for illegal immigrants, Washington Examiner, September 05, 2017. Excerpt:
Voters in 11 battleground states key to controlling the Senate in 2018 and presidency in 2020 overwhelmingly support the Trump administration’s efforts to end so-called “sanctuary” policies for illegal immigrant criminals in over 300 cities, according to a new poll on the explosive issue.
Even more significantly, over 83 percent of Hispanics want the sanctuary cities to obey federal demands to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and turn over illegals sought for deportation, according to the survey from the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
The poll, conducted by Zogby Analytics and provided exclusively to the Washington Examiner, provide the first political ammunition for sanctuary city foes and pose a potential reelection threat to key lawmakers who oppose the administration’s policies.
According to FAIR, over 77 percent of voters in those 11 states want the Senate to pass the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act, already OK’d in the House.
The survey polled voters in Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
‘Sanctuary Cities’ Get A Big Thumbs Down, Even From Hispanics: IBD/TIPP Poll, by John Merline, Investors Business Daily, June 7, 2018. Excerpt:
Nearly two-thirds of the public oppose “sanctuary cities.” Less than a third say they back the policy, according to the latest IBD/TIPP Poll.
The IBD/TIPP poll asked about support for a policy in which “some cities in the U.S. do not report illegal immigrants who commit crimes to federal immigration authorities.”
It found that 64% oppose the policy, with just 31% supporting it.
More interesting, while just 16% strongly support sanctuary cities, 45% strongly oppose the policy.
Every one of the 41 demographic groups broken out by the IBD/TIPP poll opposes this policy, except for Democrats (only 44% oppose) it, liberals (38% oppose) and those between 18 and 24 (48% of whom oppose this policy).
The strongest opposition comes from investors (71%), married women (70%), conservatives (79%), Gen-Xers (74%) and young boomers (72%).
Even Hispanics oppose this policy by a 57% to 39% margin.
Voters in new poll favor blocking federal funds for sanctuary cities by 50%-31% margin, JustTheNews.com, May 6, 2020. Excerpt:
American voters by a 50% to 31% margin favor blocking federal aids for sanctuary cities and states, according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.
To be eligible for federal financial aid, cities and states should be required to cooperate with federal immigration officials and other law enforcement officers, 50% of American voters told Just the News. Thirty-one percent (31%) disagree and 19% are not sure.
“This concept draws support from an overwhelming majority of Republicans – 78%,” Rasmussen noted. “A plurality of Independent voters agree by a 41% to 30% margin. However, by a 50% to 33% margin, Democrats take the opposite view. Half of all Democrats oppose a requirement for cities and states to cooperate with federal officials. Just 33% think is a good idea.”
And all that was known years before the Biden-Harris administration enticed 12~ million foreign nationals to illegally enter America, and tens of billions of tax dollars were spent to provide for them.
